Eye Tests for Computer Screen users

We will come to your offices and carry out eye tests for your staff.  If they need spectacles for VDU then we will make them in our lab and fit them to the patient within 1 week.  You will be giving prisoners meaningful and interesting work and supporting us create sustainable jobs for ex-offenders.

Make us your Opticians

We provide professional opticians services into over 60 sites in England & Wales.  Either we can come to you and deliver the eye tests or we can set up a relationship with a local optician and our team will simply make the spectacles.  In order to meet workplace Health and Safety regulations, employers are required to pay for eye tests requested by staff who work with computers. We will come to your office, set up a mobile opticians practice for the day and carry out eye tests for your staff. This is convenient for staff, who won’t have to travel to the nearest opticians practice, and means less time is lost by the business. This also gives our trainees the chance to practice their dispensing skills and makes our project financially self sustainable. Our fees are very competitive, and your participation will demonstrate your support for reducing re-offending whilst also ensuring your staff receive their required eye tests.

Please email us at tanjit@prisonopticians.org to find out more about the scheme, and about how your support can help us in our mission to reduce re-offending.

We deliver opticians services into 53 prisons in England and Wales.

Collectively our opticians have over 50 years experience of working in prisons. Every year we test the eyes of over 14,000 prisoners and dispense over 15,000 spectacles. We have the data intelligence to accurately forecast the eye care needs of each prison and use data to model our services to ensure efficiency without compromising quality of care.
